This season Raf Simons aimed for an uncomfortable collision of cultures and he found it! Futuristic technical fabrics used in tailoring pieces contrast boldly with one of our favourite pieces of the collection - the artisanal crocheted sweater - which has a strong folksy feel.
Other notable pieces were the chest bags, which featured in a number of the show looks. The coloured python print ones were especially eye-catching but also functional, being perfectly iPad sized and ideal for travelling.
Influence has come from all over, with tight fitting 70s-inspired suede jackets sitting next to 80's chevron print shirts. Yet, the genius of Raf is his ability to bring contrasting influences together in one succinct vision, demonstrating once more that he is still one of the most inspiring designers around.
The non-catwalk collection was also extremely strong, particularly in the knitwear and t-shirt categories. The oversized tees are fantastic accessible pieces with a slight fashion edge, while the knitwear provides strong everyday staples.
