Martin Margiela 22 Footwear

Margiela produced their first shoes for the 1989 spring/summer collection and when no to produce footwear in an ad hoc manner until it was given its own collection in autumn/winter ’05.

Now, footwear has its own ‘laboratory’ within Maison Martin Margeila, dedicated to handcrafted shoemaking. Expert Italian ateliers are used, each with a speciality in a particular style of footwear, as traditional production techniques are blended with new techniques of ageing and wearing the shoes.
