Alexander McQueen

Founded in 1992, the Alexander McQueen label quickly made waves within the British fashion scene. Regarded as the industry’s “enfant terrible”, the young brand gained much acclaim for its emotional power, raw energy and openly romantic sensibility; attributes which remain to this day.

Each subsequent collection has charted McQueen’s journey through the design world, combining impeccable British tailoring with elements of French haute couture, all with a dark and undeniably seductive edge. Under his creative direction the label continued to grow into a truly global phenomenon, a process cut short by the designer’s untimely death in 2010.

Succeeded by his protégé and right-hand-girl, Sarah Burton, Alexander McQueen’s label continues to garner much critical and commercial acclaim as she combines the late designer’s signature iconography with her own distinctive vision of British fashion.
