We all know that it's not always easy to fulfil such a simple wish as keeping one's feet dry. Now the blessed galoshes have returned. And, it is not among the shoe-polish or the rubber boots that we find them this time.

Swims, that is the name for galoshes these days. It is precisely how the Norwegian designer and "retro- stylist", Johan Ringdahl, wants us to view them. Like colour spots in a grey and rainy day, they take our old rubber rain-hats to a new dimension when they match their personalities with well-polished gentlemen's shoes and designer sneakers.

The inside is fitted with a smooth liner that makes it easier to put on and take off the overshoes, and at the same time it does a good job of shining up your shoes.Is it possible that Swims are on the way to starting a renaissance for overshoes, and that the name will become the modern term? Whatever happens, we welcome it out of the closet.
