These are the ‘Behind Bars’ 1966 XX501 - A slimmer cut than the first 501s and straighter in the leg, tapering from the knee down. It has volume in the top block and has rectangular back pockets. It also features bar tacks instead of rivets – a feature that only existed in jean history between 1966 and 1971. It also features the standard 2 horse patch, the big E red Tab and red selvedge.
Made from Levis Vintage Clothing Rigid denim on original looms, the denim will feel stiff at first but after a few days will soften and mould to your body shape. With all unwashed denim there’s a rate of shrinkage – 3-5%. If your waist is 27-36” increase size by 2”, 38” – 48” increase by 3”. If your inseam is 27-34” increase by 3”, 36” and up increase by 4”.
Wear your men's jeans for six months before washing them, preferably by hand. The indigo dye might leave a trace on your hands and legs at first but will come off with cold water.
