Haversack is the creation of Japanese designer Koji Norihide and was formed in Japan in 1998. Haversack is readily available in Japan, and has a flagship store in Tokyo but is currently only stocked in a limited number of stockists in Europe.
The name Haversack is taken from the bag used by the American army made of linen and wool as a substitute for leather. It was recognised for its strength and durability. The concept of the label is to be a contemporary collection which places a great emphasis on detail that always works back towards the base of the collection (the military).
Through a seriously taken design process, that pays complete attention to the cut of the garment, the result is a strong modern silhouette.
Natural fabrics like linen and cotton are used to add a richer texture and give an aged look and feel to the garment -so through time the image of Haversack is complete.
