As suggested by the tropical setting of the video and the lookbook images we posted last week, the new Nike Gyakusou collection is designed with warm climates in mind.
The product, which went live on our site in the early hours of this morning, offers the same function and form as the winter garments, while prioritising lightness and breathability. “Running in the summer is a battle against heat", said Jun Takahashi, when outlining the conceptual basis of this collection, which was designed for the stifling heat of the Honolulu marathon.
In the footwear department, this season focuses on Nike’s Lunar sole, with the Lunar Spider and Lunarglide offering more shock absorption and stability than last season’s styles, which were based on the barefoot Free sole.
