The Kerouac is a man’s boot with a little romanticism and some healthy disrespect for the rules. It’s an adventure boot. Mr. Hare intends to create many personal memories and reach many moments of great significance wearing this boot, and hopes many others choose and manage to do the same.

Kerouac is a slip on dress boot made from fine Italian calf leather and soft suede on a Blake construction. The soft construction of the upper vamp allows the boot to be contracted sock-like in order to secure the foot. However the upper can be left un-contracted and will retain itself comfortably. The fastening system uses a heavy-duty leather lace and metal button toggle. As with all Mr. Hare shoes, Kerouac is fully leather lined in natural leather. The sole and heel are also constructed from 100% leather with a rubber heel insert. Reinforcement nails protect the toe area. The minimal seams on the upper are rolled to avoid untidy fraying.
For best care, Kerouac should be stored on a shoetree to retain the shape and should be polished with natural shoe polish between wears. The suede areas should be brushed with a wire suede brush at regular intervals to maintain texture and colour.
