Satyenkumar

British menswear designer Satyenkumar graduated from the Central Saint Martins MA 2001. Focusing on men's style and tailoring, his first design position landed him on the mainline collection at Versace in Milan.

Departing Milan after completing four seasons he returned to London to consult for a three time New Generation award winning designer, before going it alone.

Under his first name, Satyenkumar started with his first test collection a/w06 which was greatly welcomed by buyers and editors. A combination of tailored casualwear fused with tuxedo style dressing, a modern hybrid of English eccentric playboys. His pieces are exclusively manufactured in the UK using a majority of materials from British suppliers. Satyenkumar is part of our New Faces of Menswear feature and you can read a full interview with Satyen here.

SEASONAL NOTE

Satyenkumar's s/s10 collection, Reflection Through A Lens, is made up of colour accents and blocks in dominating base tones of grey/nude to explosive azure, lipstick, coral and lavender with hints of tie-dye versus kaleidoscope inspired prints and transparencies.
This season focuses on a combination of sharp tailoring worn with ease, a timeless yet modern hybrid of classics; fly front panelled twill tailoring, light weight unlined blazers in Swiss voile, habotai and tulle, weightless outerwear, jean-inspired trousers with contrast waistbands, pyjama shorts in crepe, sheer/dense mix shirts and puzzle pieced tulle vests giving a hanging x-ray vision.
