For his autumn/winter '11 collection Marc Hare has engaged in a spot of nostalgia. Looking back in time to his adolescence in the 80s, the collection is a catalogue of the shoes he idolised at that time. Called Idolescent, the collection features bovver boots, loafers, New Wave Oxfords and Apache steppers, each a romanticised and improved version of their historic archetype. Far from reproductions, these are the shoes as Marc remembers them, viewed through the saccharin haze of nostalgia.
Mr Hare collections always have a level of selfish self-interest to them - Marc proudly states that he makes the shoes that he would want to wear. It's fortunate then, that he has such impeccable taste in footwear.
