J.W. Anderson

Born in Northern Ireland in 1984, Jonathan William Anderson originally wanted to pursue a career in acting. However, after studying drama in Washington DC, a love of stage costumes pushed him towards fashion. By the time he completed his menswear degree at the London College of Fashion in 2007 he had already made his London Fashion Week debut, with a collection characterised by the use of real insects in jewellery.

Jonathan’s autumn/winter ’11 collection is called "The Fear Of Naturalism” and it takes a base of English tailoring, then reconsiders it through the filter of various subcultures as a celebration of individual freedom. Always luxurious and refined, the collection includes paisley prints, slim woollen trousers and heavy mohair sweaters.
